When I first joined a free discussion session, I was really nervous. My heart was racing, and I honestly had no idea what to say. I imagined everyone would have a perfect accent and speak without making grammatical mistakes. That wasn’t the case at all. I ended up enjoying the session, making friends with the people there, and coming back for the next two or three years.
The idea behind free discussion sessions is simple: we get together and speak English in the way we want to. That’s it. There’s nothing complicated about it. You don’t need to do homework or memorize ten pages of vocabulary before attending.
At Debate Club, we try to create a welcoming, supportive space where participants can talk about interesting and timely subjects, such as technology, psychology, business, sociology, or any other suitable topic. You can share experiences, get feedback, improve your English, and learn something along the way.
I prefer to keep sessions to a maximum of ten people. That way, everyone has more time to participate in the discussion.
Sessions take place weekly, and the minimum English level for participation is B1.
